Welcome!
The Baby Carrier Industry Alliance formed in 2010 to advance the well-being, growth, and interests of baby carrier manufacturers, importers, distributors, retailers, and educators. It does so through advocacy, public relations, information sharing, industry research, and business development assistance conducted with appreciation for the needs of parents, caregivers, and children.
Since our inception, we have successfully completed our work with the ASTM to establish a voluntary standard for sling-style carriers. This standard has passed after more than four years of work between our industry, the CPSC, Health Canada, consumer groups and other hardworking members of the subcommittee.
Through the Alliance, we are working with members in seventeen countries who share many similar challenges and problems. Without quality standards that are written in a way to be achievable to small home businesses, our industry stands in grave regulatory danger.
Join us now as a Business Member of BCIA, to support us as a Friend of babywearing, or to become a Champion of our cause. We still have much work ahead of us! Watch this website for more information, and please spread the word about BCIA via your own blog, Facebook, Twitter, or online communities.
